EXPERIENCE

March 2003-present

Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development, Principal Research Scientist, Computational Chemistry.

Participated in the design of the Advanced Biology and Chemistry Discovery (ABCD) platform of applications and databases that collect and combine huge amounts of chemical and biological information and make that information available to the scientists at Johnson & Johnson PRD. Designed and implemented a significant fraction of core components of ThirdDimension Explorer desktop application, a front-end to the ABCD system, which combines powerful data retrieval and data mining tools.

January 1998 - March 2003

3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals (3DP), Exton, PA, USA

Position: Research Fellow, Computational Chemistry.

Designed and implemented significant parts of DirectedDiversity®, an integrated, patented system for computer-assisted combinatorial drug design. Participated in the design and implementation of a comprehensive C++ foundation class library for molecular computing. Developed advanced graphical user interfaces for all the components of the DirectedDiversity® system. Designed, implemented and maintained parts of 3DP's web-based DiscoverWorks informatics system. Applied DirectedDiversity® in 3DP's internal and collaborative drug discovery efforts.

1995 - Dec. 1997

The Laboratory of Radiation Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry of Moscow Lomonosov State University.

Position: Engineer; Research Scientist (starting from 12/96);

Programming and Web development consultant for the Center for Scientific
and Technical Information at the Faculty of Chemistry.

Studied the composition of the aerosols generated by ultrasound and role of adsorption in the reactions in liquids under ultrasound irradiation. Wrote utilities and documentation the Center for Scientific and Technical Information. Wrote a textbook on Web development.

1995 Spring semester

School of Chemistry of The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Position: Graduate Student enrolled in Ph.D. program in Chemistry; Teaching Assistant for Professor Suslick's Inorganic Chemistry course.

Took courses in Computer Science ("Data Structures" and "Software Engineering").

1988-1994

The Laboratory of Radiation Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry of Moscow Lomonosov State University.

Position: Engineer.

Studied reactions in aqueous solutions under the influence of powerful ultrasound. Developed (in co-operation with Dr. Abramenkov, Faculty of Chemistry) a large software package for complex kinetics simulations. Wrote and published a textbook on C++ programming.
